Infidelity Warning Signs – Lying

To conduct an affair, a cheater needs to lie. Thus, it is only natural that lying is one of the most common infidelity warning signs. Even simple questions like “Where have you been?” would require a lie to cover up what is going on behind your back.

The problem with lying is it will come a time when the cheater needs to tell more lies to cover up the original lie. Answers no longer sound convincing, things never really add up, and what a cheater says raises even more questions. When someone is lying, he often avoids looking you directly in the eye or frequently shifts his eyes.

Signs Of Lying

Other signs of lying include blushing, stuttering, stumbling over words, fidgeting, holding one’s breath and twitching. A liar will often over-react and uses drama to distract you from your question and avoids telling the truth. All these are part of infidelity warning signs brought about by lying.

Although lying can hard to detect but if you pay close attention, you may just find something fishy that is not quite right. If you do not know how to pick up the physical cues, look out for contradictory statements make on the same subject by your partner. Take note of answers given today and revisit the same subject again a few days later. If your partner is telling the truth, statements made should be consistent at different points of time. Being attentive in conversations with your partner is one way to have a clearer idea if he is telling a lie or otherwise.

Being Evasive

If your partner is living a lie, he will also need to be evasive as much as possible to reveal as little information as possible. A cheating partner can do so by being curt and rude or by changing topic effortlessly.

Cheaters want to reveal as little information about themselves as possible, to avoid the risk of letting something slip and inadvertently cause suspicion. So, a simple question like ”Where have you been?” can even make a cheater feels uncomfortable that he would try to evade giving a straightforward answer. Any questions that are somehow connected to your partner’s affair will not be a safe topic for discussion that being evasive can suddenly becomes increasingly frequent in daily conversations. This is another one of the many infidelity warning signs that can trigger your gut feeling that something is not quite right.
